Intro to R - Part 2 Online

In Part 2, you will learn the fundamental concepts of programming and R syntax structure necessary to read and write code.

If you have confidently completed a project in R, you may already be familiar with the content in this workshop. Feel free to skip Part 2 if you are comfortable with the following:

There is not a follow-along component so you do not need to have RStudio installed/open. Attendees should already be familiar with data terminology and other concepts covered in the Data Essentials workshop.

  • Objects, data types, and data structures
  • Special syntax such as formula notation and ggplot layering
  • The pipe and code in Base R vs Tidyverse
  • Reading documentation and tutorials
  • Common error messages and troubleshooting
