OSF 101: Introduction to the Open Science Framework In-Person
This session is an introduction on how to use the Open Science Framework (https://osf.io). The OSF is a free and open source project management tool that supports researchers throughout their entire project lifecycle. The OSF is part collaboration tool, part version control software, and part data archive. As a collaboration tool, the OSF helps research teams work on projects privately or make the entire project publicly accessible for broad dissemination. As a workflow system, the OSF connects to many products (ex. Dropbox, GitHub, Zotero, etc.) that researchers already use, which streamlines their process and increase efficiency.
The topics covered in this session include:
- Basics of navigating the OSF
- Creating projects on the OSF
- Introduction to reproducible research practices
- Methods to track activity
- Introduction to the use of Templates and Forks on the OSF to easily make new projects.
