Zotero: Citations Made Simple

Zotero: Citations Made Simple Online

Are you overwhelmed with citations? Or sick of copying and pasting every citation into a word document? Do you have a browser with dozens of open tabs while you work on a research paper? Or maybe you’re working on a dissertation and you need to organize many different sources, pdfs, and notes. No matter what your situation, Zotero can help! Zotero, a free citation management tool created at GMU, allows you to easily collect, organize, and cite sources in the proper format. It creates bibliographies automatically, allowing you to import an entire works cited list into Microsoft Word with the click of a button. During this workshop, we will teach you how to install and access Zotero, how to add sources and create bibliographies, and how to organize your Zotero library. We will also talk about some common usage and troubleshooting tips, and where to get more help when you need it.

We have two additional types of Zotero instruction:

45-minute video you can watch at your convenience https://coursemedia.gmu.edu/media/Zotero/1_hbkvo79z

“Zotero: Citations Made Simple is a new guided self-paced workshop, so you can now learn how to do these things at your own speed. A workshop facilitator will be just an email or discussion board post away to help you.

You will be encouraged to complete activities throughout the workshop in order receive a certificate of completion at the end.”
